ANDOVER -- Polatis Inc., a provider of optical-networking equipment, said it has landed $2.7 million in new venture-capital funding.

The company, whose British headquarters includes part of what was formerly Billerica-based Continuum Photonics, said in a press release that the new funding would go toward developing new products and increasing manufacturing capability.

Contributors include existing investors Flagship Ventures, JK&B Capital, DFJ Esprit, Encore Ventures, Alta-Berkeley Ventures, Massachusetts Technology Development Corp., Prism VentureWorks and Gainseborough Investments.

The company has raised at least $16 million overall, according to Mass High-Tech.
