Sprint Nextel is reorganising its structure and will merge the sales and marketing functions for both its consumer and business units into one division.

As a result, four executives will be leaving the company, the company's CEO, Dan Hesse said in a memo sent to staff last Friday.

Sales will be headed by Chief Sales Officer Paget Alves while marketing will be headed by Bill Malloy.

The move was presented as a cost-cutting measure as the company increases its investment in network infrastructure.
