(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center provider Telx (www.telx.com) announced on Tuesday that fiber-based communication provider Level 3 Communications (www.level3.com) is expanding network services into Telx's New Jersey data center.

Telx recently announced expansion plans for its data center in Clifton, New Jersey. Telx will add 15,000 square feet once it is complete.

The expansion of Level 3's services into Telx New Jersey will provide increased fiber capacity while offering Telx's colocation customers better choice in optimized routes to other New Jersey and New York data centers and financial exchanges.

"Level 3 is pleased to add another Telx data center to our expanding network of key locations in the U.S., providing more capacity and services to address the growing demand for high-quality network solutions at Telx's New Jersey colocation and interconnection center," Robert Kaps, Level 3's general Manager for the Tri-State region said in a statement. "Our deployment with Telx further demonstrates our commitment to expanding a comprehensive suite of network services across the East Coast, enabling efficient and reliable solutions that address today's business challenges in areas such as cloud computing and business continuity."

The 59,000-square-foot data center is located 11 miles outside of New York City and offers customers the ability to lease private cages and cabinets.
