Comcast asks FCC to reject ruling on Tennis Channel distribution
As expected, Comcast Corp. asked the Federal Communications Commission to reject an administrative law judge's decision that would force it to distribute the 24-hour Tennis Channel to subscribers on a general-interest tier. The channel is currently available on an extra-charge sports package.
FCC administrative law Judge Richard L. Sippel also fined the cable company $375,000 for "discriminating" against the channel in his ruling last month.
"The decision is deeply flawed - it is riddled with factual errors, inconsistencies, and speculative reasoning," Comcast said in a filing with the FCC.
