Allied Arts 8 by 8 show and sale opens tonight, Dec. 1, during Hospitality Night. All paintings are 8 by 8 inches, exhibited anonymously and for sale for $50. The artists names are all on the back, not signed on the front, so viewers can judge whether they like each painting on its own artistic merits, without being affected by the name. The free opening reception from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cambria Center for the Arts, 1350 Main St., also offers music,

refreshments and the chance to meet many of the participating artists. Contributing artists include Shirley Pittman, J’net Wolff, Nehemiah Persoff, Linda Dunn, Steve Kellogg, Claudia Solomon, Lynn Rathbun, Erin Perry, Sue Johnson, Clarence Weiss.
